If you have ever said these words in your lifetime...
"I have n.e.v.e.r lied in my life."
Reality check!! You just did. and I'm just sayin'
So folks there have been times that I have lied and have not been proud and there are times that I have lied for the intent of the greatest surprises to give to my loved ones. Lying is tough for me. My face turns bright red, my fingers have minds of their own and dance around and through each other, and I get beads of sweat on the tip of my nose. That my friends is a blessing. I'm grateful its difficult for me to lie.
Now.. when it comes to the 'good kind of lying' then its easy peasy, lemon squeezy. Well... its only partly that easy because my excitement for this is overflowing and the person I usually tell EVERYTHING to is the person who cannot know... bummer.
Here is the truth: My sister doesn't really have a photography class... hence the fact that those pictures were not for her 'photography project.' The day before we took our pictures, I showed her how to work my camera and my favorite settings to use. I have you to thank for being the sweetest and always being willing to help us out... even though we lied. (haha I'm sorry.) Thank you to my little bean for being a good sport and taking us out to do pictures, you did amazing and I'm grateful to call you my little sister.
If you don't know Karinne... you should. Throughout her blog she posts about all her family members birthdays and she lists all of the amazing talents they have and reasons of why she looks up to them. Here is my list about her.
- I have these moments where I get mini panic attacks, and they consist of me wondering what the heck I am doing with my life, if I'm even close to doing it right, and if I'm making my Heavenly Father proud. Karinne takes the 80 page text message or the hour long phone call to listen to these panic attacks. Its how she does it that makes a difference to me. She has such confidence in herself and everything she does. She reminds me that if I'm doing things that make ME happy then I'm doing it right. So simple, yet true.
- We are the last 2 of our group of friends that are not married... and not anywhere near getting married. We often talk of our wedding days. How we want them exactly, how we crave that day some weeks, and other weeks we could wait a lifetime... then the conversation rolls onto how we are going to travel the world and live together in a studio apartment. Some may disagree and say its tiny and not nice... but we'll have you know that its fun when its with your best friend. *cough cough* brian!! *cough* ;) Not everyone can own a BMW, jet ski's, and a house. Cool guy. Rant over.. I apologize.
- She is the greatest aunt to her nephew, Owen. That sentence speaks volumes... just in case you are wondering.
- If I am having a bad day she brings me my favorite treat into work. I'll never forget how great that caramel apple tasted on that dreary day.
- I went on a date with this boy and embarrassed myself miserably. To the point of tears for 3 days. I was out of town at the time as I was telling her about it. She first laughed, (because it really is funny) and then she told me that I'm much better than him, and that I deserve more. I had zero confidence after this date and she just has this way of pulling me up out of the darkest slumps. I'm glad she laughed at me because it taught me that laughing at myself is quite possibly a good thing.
- She will be thee only person that can lock both of our keys in her car, in 0 degree weather and make me laugh myself to tears about it. We didn't have our cars for a day, so that was fun and a great way to start 2013.
- She makes dinner for her whole family and she loves baking. Wish some of that could rub off on me. You little baker you!
- Some days I will stop by to see what she is up to or to get my car keys that she locked in her car the night before... haha and she will be in what I like to call her 'comfy's' and she looks beautiful as ever. Hi, excuse me, you're not supposed to look that good in a hoodie and sweats. Teach me your ways!
- Getting your picture drawn by a cute little asian at Rockerfeller center in New York is only fun when its with your best friend... and when the picture looks n.o.t.h.i.n.g like us. Best $30.00 we have ever spent. This was in the rain.. I might add. For you.. a deal.
- Her and I will quite possibly be the only two people who run into their ex before hanging out with each other. Thanks a lot for taking an hour of our time.
Rinne- Thanks for the memories. I'm so grateful I have you in my life, and even as my best friend. Thank you for your advice and your willingness to help with anything I need. Thank you for laughing at my jokes and our endless shopping days. Happy 23rd.
I love you.
xo. k.
