| My Man <3 |
A couple weeks ago, I was watching this t.v. show called, Secret Millionaire, with my dad. If you haven't seen it or heard of it, I will give you a brief description of how the show runs and whatnot. Basically they send out a millionaire to a city or place where its highly stricken with poverty. Tons of homeless people, and organizations where you can do an act of service. On this particular episode they sent out business partners that were the owners and founders of Anytime Fitness. They went to a part of Oklahoma City and found a couple organizations that helped keep kids off the streets by creating a wrestling program along with other sports or activities and the other was a place that made prosthetic limbs for those who lost them or were born without them. By the end of the show the millionaires give a check of however much money they want to these people who are less fortunate than us. They put an investment in the gym for the wrestling program and gave them their very own Anytime Fitness, plus gave them a check to help them with equipment etc. Then the organization with the prosthetic limbs were given a check to help the waiting list... Some of these patients had been on the waiting list for 7 years, only because they didn't have enough funds coming in to make these prosthetics. They changed lives with one signature, and a simple service to their community. I have watched other episodes where the millionaire is so touched by the experience that he sees someone without shoes... then takes off his very own and hands them over like it was nothing.
I can't help but think of how much these people give because of how blessed their lives have been. I wrote to my missionary and told him that he is a millionaire of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is doing a tremendous act of service and saving souls every single day. Missionaries are the Lord's millionaires. Its not a check written for $10,000.00, but a blessing that is endless. I tend to forget how blessed I am to have been raised in the church, to be able to walk to a temple, to take the sacrament every Sunday, to watch conference in my home, to have been baptized when I was 8, to have a calling as a primary teacher, to have visiting teachers, to have a home where the spirit is a constant.
My heart is so full every Sunday. I think about how we all can be millionaires of the Lord, because of the blessings that are showered upon us every day. I look at my primary kids, & I pray that my own kids will be as witty and knowledgeable as they are with the Gospel. They are so in tune with the spirit, I feel as though they teach me more than I could ever teach them.
So what do you say? Let's all be millionaires of the Lords work and serve others. Let's all not be afraid to say, 'hi' to a long lost friend. Let's all pray at night for those who are in need and less fortunate than we. Let's all live by the Gospel Doctrines and principles... because after all, that is true happiness. You can be a millionaire of the Lord's work too, and it has nothing to do with being a millionaire... but everything to do with being a millionaire of the spirit.
Happy Sunday everyone :) xoxo.

okay seriously, so cute.
