That time of year.

Cleaning my room doesn't happen often... so I only do it once a year.

bahah. Kidding, kidding.

Twice a year I try hard to go through my clothes, trinkets, books, journals... etc. Just to have a fresh season. That being now the fall season I had to postpone my 'fall cleaning' because of resent travels. Don't worry it only took me a week to muster up the patience and confidence in just knowing that I could get through it. I reminded myself 9238409759882350982 times that it will be worth it in the end and it usually is. So here I am sitting on the floor of a very clean room, with a half empty closet, bed made, and journals back to their right form. I have to blog about this because I'm proud and I'm proud of the decisions I made during this... urge to completely tear apart my room and have a NEW start. If it weren't for the journals and fun trinkets that I get distracted with it probably would only take me an hour to do it all, but that's me.. 'Ms. Let's read every page of your journal to see how big of a retard you were in high school..' That, in itself, is a post for another day! But, what I'm really trying to get to is service. I get really busy and caught up in my every day routine that I tend to forget how to give back, or how I could serve others on a daily basis. As I was ripping every shirt off their hangers, I thought, I will give these to Primary Childrens Hospital. I felt it was so brilliant that I just kept throwing, sweaters, jeans, t-shirts, scarves, jewelry, shoes, and little trinkets that once held a special place in my heart into bags for these kids. I thought.. If I could give these away, seeing a child with the many things that I am so fortunate to have, If I could see them smile when they got it... then that special place would be filled with that one smile.

Four garbage bags later, and I couldn't be more happy to give back to my community, to the people who need these things most. I think this 'giving' part of me comes out 20 times stronger during holiday seasons, so here I am getting a head start on things. So here is my question... How are you going to give back? What do you guys do?

It's also that time of year to have everything pumpkin!! Today I went to Jamba Juice, and they had out their 'limited time only' pumpkin smash jamba! You can only imagine, I was thrilled. If I could just suggest one tiny little thing to jamba though... it would be to get a drive through. Just a thought :) Next on the pumpkin intake would be my mom's amazing pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. No one makes them better. Sorry not sorry. You go mom!... next question, when you gonna make them? ;)

Haunted houses. Its a love/hate situation. Thats all on that topic.

Bring on the Halloween parties. This is my favorite time of the year. So here is my advice to you... Give back a little, go grab yourself a nice original pumpkin smash at jamba, eat some cookies, take a trip to a haunted house, and last but not least.. make some time for yourself, dress up and attend a halloween party. (because they are the best.)

Now that my room is clean, closet half empty, and blogging is finished... I am going to go watch Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks fall in love. Hello, You've Got Mail.

xo.

Maybe I am stingy and maybe I don't have that many clothes! ;) I am trying a Kneaders pumpkin bread this weekend...so excited I can already smell it. NO THANKS to haunted house but yes please to parties. I love to dress the kiddos. Glad your home safe. Love you
