Why weren't we?

Have you ever had moments in your life where you say to yourself, a friend, or a family member...

Why weren't we... this? or that?

I have a friend that I constantly do this with. I think we will forever wonder why the heck we weren't besties in high school. We both agree that in high school we wanted to be closer friends and talk more rather than being just 'classmates' or 'hi buddies' in the crazy walls of Copper Hills. How do you go about that though? How do you go farther than just being a classmate or someone you just wave to in the hall. You don't want to be a creep and you don't know their limits. As we get older its a lot harder to make a friend, a best friend at that. You see, in pre-school all you had to do was ask to be friends and that was that. You had a best friend for life. Why don't adults do this? Wouldn't life be more enjoyable and less stressful?

My point here is that there is timing for everything. Maybe we will know the reason of why we weren't as close in high school someday, but for now we just have to wonder. All I know is that I'm grateful I have this girl now... what I would ever do without her is beyond me. I hope we continue to have these moments:

"I'm so glad you aren't married...." 'me too, rinne!'
"Is my backpack zipped up?" 'yep... I promise.'
"That guy totally knew what he was doing when he drew us." 'for you... a deal!'
'Have you ever had that one pair of underwear that you wait to wear because its the worst out of all of them, and you end up having to wear them because you haven't had time to do your laundry yet?' "YES."
"Why aren't we comedians?"
"Its just one of those things..."

Even though we didn't know each other in pre-school, or kindergarten... at least we have each other now. You have been there for me through a ton, this last year has been a freakin' blast because of you. I love you Rinner Rinner :) Thanks for being a best friend to this crazy girl.
