St. George Shinanigans

Every year, once a year we take a trip to St. George for Staci's dance competition.

Its fun.
Its warm.
Its loooong.

When I say long, I'm talking 8 a.m. - 11 p.m.
I'm always feeling awful for those dancers.. because they are tired, hungry, they have to change into 837429834 different outfits, and they all do it with a smile. *you go lil dancers*

My dad has and always will be our #1 fans. Throughout swim he would buy the heat sheets and mark down my whole teams best times and he would have long conversations with me afterwards about what could maybe help me drop a second the next race or whatnot. He STILL does those things. He buys Stac's program and writes down all the places or categories her team was in. He never thinks he does enough but those things mean the world to us. We love that you're our best support and that you never miss out on our sports.

On Friday's they do all the solo's. Staci doesn't do solo's, so late Thursday night we arrived in St. George all excited that we get to lay by the pool the next day in 80 degree weather... we were pumped to say the least. We sat down to eat dinner and we were talking about the hotel pool etc... and my dad says to us, "Wouldn't you girls rather go to Vegas? It's only an hour and a half away from here. Just hang out on the strip all day."

Us: 'Uhm... are you serious dad?' We were sold.

So we also took a spontaneous trip to Las Vegas, rode a roller coaster and went to the shark aquarium. I think its safe to say my dad is the shiz. We love Vegas. I don't know what it is about that place... maybe the cool people who walk around in underwear with all the confidence in the world is the reason? I just can't quite pinpoint it. Long story short, it was our favorite day and we got a little sunkissed.

Back to my lil bean... She danced great on Saturday. I know I am only her older sister but I feel like a mom when I watch her. I get teary eyed, film every dance (even though I have already filmed them at all her other comps) and I'm just proud of her. I'm proud of how hard she works with the busy-ness of school, trying to get her license, while holding a social life... she is the best at it. Going to bed late at night but still having time to stop by across the hall into my room to see how MY day has been... she just is the best. She is the example I look up to. I hope I am half the sister to her as she is to me. I'm truly blessed to have her.

You did so great bean. I love you so muchhh.

xo. me.

p.s. if you wanna be her best friend... buy her one of these bad boys from Kneaders.
