Dove.

Remember this post?

I'll refresh your memory a bit. I talked a lot about how girls compare themselves to other girls and basically we shouldn't because it prevents us from counting our blessings and exercising our talents. Point is: Don't do that ladies :)

I want to write about something similar. I got my inspiration from the video posted below.

Side note: Ever watched the Dove commercials? Well.. if you have not... it is like a MUST. Every single one of them has made me teary eyed and they lift my spirits sooo much. Which then leads me to the fact that I am an avid 'Dove soap' user. But really.

How do we view ourselves? I left my house this morning for school wearing my new 'hello' sweater with some colored jeans and cheetah flats... feelin' pretty good about my outfit of choice.

Until I saw this one girl. Don't hate me... I'm still learning this whole do-not-compare-yourself-to-others process. She wore black skinny jeans, with black ballet flats and this adorable coral shirt with a black trim on the neckline and at the end of the sleeves. She was looking fab.

I compared myself.
Got mad at myself.
Then gave myself a compliment.
Immediately my spirits were lifted.

(I am crazy.) But not ashamed because I know girls do this daily. I'm trying to change so all that up there is progression. *Gives pat on the back*

A lot of us are critical about certain things. For example: Sometimes I feel like my nose is huge. Stace thinks she has a double chin... and she is crazy, because she is beautiful, smart, funny and has the most beautiful chin I have ever seen. (I'm not saying that because I am your sister bean... I really mean it.)

Here is my point ladies... Give yourself more credit. We go through a lot. We are meant to have children and our bodies don't necessarily bounce back to our teenage years... but when someone else is looking at you they don't see that. They see that you're a new mom, you are what God intended you to be. How beautiful is that?

-That was just an example-

So now I want you to watch this video. Its so amazing, endearing, wonderful, and uplifting.

p.s. grab some tissues :)
